The Maira Valley, still intact and
wild, has its point of strength in touring and in the life in contact
with the nature. The ancient routes of transportation between the
countries and the villages, still existing and in good state of maintenance,
offer multiple possibilities for walks of different difficulties which
satisfy any tourist's type.
Among the characteristics courses, there are:
•The Occitan Courses, those develop along a route of 16 stages
of various difficulties. The course is long approximately 100 km and
it crosses the whole valley and all the Provinces.
•The Great Crossing of the Alps, which crosses the valley in
more points, of low and high altitude, and enjoys many stations of
stage and points of comfort. The organization of the GCA counts a
complete and exhaustive system of signs, quite recognizable for the
white ones and the red notches.
